 On Dec.11， DSIC Offshore Structure Co., Ltd has signed EPC contract for five 85000 CBM VLECs with JHW ENGINEERING & CONTRACTING LIMITED in Dalian. On the same day, “Atlantica Delta”, the second BT3500 semisubmersible drilling support platform, has been delivered to the owner smoothly, which overall technology is leading at home and advanced internationally. Under the condition that global shipbuilding industry is depressed and newbuilding orders are reduced by half, DSIC has played its cards right to broaden management concept, enrich product mix, and realize transformation, upgrade and development against the market.
The 85000 CBM VLEC is equipped with 4 liquid cargo tanks, among which there are three IMO Type C 3-ear tanks, propelled by CPP directly driven by dual-fuel slow-speed main engine. Meanwhile, this shiptype has created several first times: the first gas carrier with a loading capacity of IMO Type C tank up to 85000 cbm, the largest capacity of single Type C tank, the first MAN patented dual-fuel (ethane+diesel) slow-speed main engine of 16080 kW and the first shipyard to build this type of project with EPC. This project has reached a new industrial height in technical content, construction methodology and building difficulties. Furthermore, time limit is tight and very strict requirements in design, supply and building proposal are raised up.
The semisubmersible drilling support platform of“Atlantica Delta”is a new type of equipment emerged internationally for exploitation of offshore gas and petroleum resources, which is one of the most advanced semisubmersible drilling platforms in the world, very high in level of automation with 5 times of communication information on 400-foot jack-up. This platform is 83.2m loa, 61.10m wide, 16.65m deep in draft, 3300 ton variable load on deck, 1500m max. operating water depth, and classed in ABS.DSIC Offshore Structure Co., Ltd is specialized in EPC of offshore engineering equipment and projects of repair and upgrade.
