Days ago, DSIC’s design team for deep-water semi-submersible drilling platform received a commendatory letter from the owner, CNOOC, in which, they expressed their heartfelt thanks towards the hard work and efforts of the team endeavored in building up a quality project. As a veteran shipyard over 100 years, the owner has given DSIC a recognition for her profound design background and solid design basis.
The deep-water semi-submersible drilling platform is quite difficult in design and high in technical contents, which has to be in compliance with many high-standard requirements, such as class notations of DP3, NORSOK and DNV DRILL, etc. DSIC has overcome various unfavorables like the lagging basic design plans, strict rules and regulations and incomplete equipment data, so as to push the project ahead positively. With the hard work and efforts of the design team, the design task for this project has almost been near the end while their design achievements have received the owner’s praise.
