On Nov.11, DSIC held a steel cutting ceremony for two 2000TEU container vessels constructed for COSCO (Hong Kong), where the representatives from COSCO (Hong Kong) and DSIC’s relevant personnel in charge of the project presented the ceremony and unveiled for steel cutting together.
The steel cutting of these two 2000TEU container vessels marks DSIC’s another new leap on the construction technology of large container vessel following construction of 8800TEU, 9250TEU and 10000TEU container vessels, where such shiptype is the first batch of 20000 TEU VLCS to be built in the domestic shipyards.
Twin-islet superstructure arrangement and double-bottom and double-shell hull structure shall be adopted for these 2000TEU container vessels commencing steel cutting this time, whose major route is East Asia---Europe. Her design complies with the rules and regulations of dual class societies of DNV GL and CCS, and class notation of GL’s GAS READY (D, Mec, S).
